As we wrap up the first quarter, we have so much to celebrate! Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard, and the results speak for themselves:

  • Academic Strides: Our state performance rating jumped by an impressive 25.4 points compared to last year.

  • Community & Connections: Our students are showing up, growing socially, building strong friendships, and making great memories.

  • Creative & Athletic Success: From amazing artwork to wonderful music, our students are thriving across all their extracurriculars.

Middle school is a special journey, and our dedicated staff, talented students, and supportive families make our WCMS community truly extraordinary. We consider ourselves truly fortunate to have the opportunity to partner with you in helping your students unlock their limitless potential.

Thank you for your continued partnership. Let’s keep this great momentum going into Quarter 2!

Chef Special Lunch on Wednesday, Oct 21st!

We have an exciting event coming up! On Wednesday, October 21st, our corporate Chef, Mike Demos, will be visiting our school to prepare a special featured meal for our students and staff: Dan Dan Noodles.

Please note the following important details for school lunch next week:

  • Single Lunch Option on Wednesday (Oct 21): Chef Mike’s featured dish will be the only school lunch option served on Wednesday. Please review the attached menu document and picture to see what is being served. If your child would prefer something else, please plan to send them with a packed lunch from home that day.

  • Menu Schedule Swap: Because Chef Mike was originally scheduled for Friday, we are swapping the menu items for Wednesday and Friday next week. The standard menu item previously listed for Wednesday will now be served on Friday, October 23rd.

A promotional poster features Chef Mike Demos surrounded by fresh vegetables, announcing a cooking event on October 21st.
After-School Study Hall at Weld Central Middle School

We are excited to offer a new After-School Study Hall opportunity for WCMS students.

Study Hall will be held each Wednesday from 3:15–4:30 p.m. and will provide students with additional time and support to complete assignments, get help with schoolwork, and build strong academic habits.

A few important details

  • Study Hall is limited to 15 students each week.

  • Students must be referred and signed up by a teacher to attend.

  • Parents/guardians who are interested in having their student attend should reach out to their student's teacher.

  • Students may ride the activity bus at 4:45 p.m. to the local elementary school.

  • If your student is not riding the activity bus, they must be picked up at WCMS at 4:30 p.m.

  • The referring teacher will let you know that your student has been signed up and will communicate what subject or assignment the student will be working on.

We are excited to provide this additional opportunity to support academic excellence and help our students develop real skills for real life!

Thank you for partnering with us to support student success!

SRO Safety Spotlight

“Tracks Are for Trains”

Train tracks might look like a shortcut or a fun place to explore, but they can be extremely dangerous.

NEVER PLAY ON TRAIN TRACKS — Tracks are not a playground. Stay off them.

CROSS ONLY AT CROSSINGS — Use designated railroad crossings and follow the signs and signals.

STOP WHEN THE LIGHTS FLASH — Flashing lights, bells, or a lowered gate mean STOP. Wait until it is safe and the signals have stopped.

LOOK BOTH WAYS — Always look and listen before crossing railroad tracks.

PAY ATTENTION — Put away your phone and take out your headphones when you're near a crossing.

NEVER CLIMB ON TRAINS — Stay away from trains, railroad cars, and railroad equipment.

A simple rule to remember:

“Tracks are for trains—not for people.”

Stay alert. Stay back. Stay safe.

Have a safe and happy weekend!
